 ~ Review ~

I was truly looking forward to this new read from HJ Bellus.  Who doesn't love the beauty and the beast aspect of it.  The interaction between Blue and Tuck was so engaging even when they weren't engaging that was how I knew this was going to be a story for me.

Blue is at college for cheer and cheer alone.   She's not looking for distraction but that is the one thing that even being in the proximity of Tuck is to her to her.  His insistence to keep his distance from her has her yearning to know him more.

Tuck keeps to himself and all though he is drawn to Blue he keeps his distance.  Making it his business to be her protector he starts to join her on her nightly runs.  There's no talking....just being.  That in itself is enough for Blue while they navigate whatever it is between them.

But when a nightly run goes wrong, Tucks quick thinking makes all of the difference.  Can they find a way to break down the walls and let each other in?

I read this book pretty much in one sitting because I needed to know how their story would play out.  I loved that there was acceptance beyond the physical. The journey to get Tuck to open up and expose himself took an immense amount of courage and strength.  But the journey was worth it.

So here's why I couldn't give it that extra heart.....The end kind of threw me.   It felt rushed and a bit unresolved.  I felt like I was missing something and then the next thing I know I am at the epilogue, falling in love with Blue and Tuck all over again.
