~ Review ~

This book was not only intriguing and suspenseful.  I could not wait to return to this book after having to step away.  The story in the back of my mind making me wonder what was coming next. 

I liked Lillian and grew to love her through out the story. Her job was morbid but also the last impression of someone. You could tell that she cared deeply for those around her that left her to putting herself last.  Until she decides she needs a change and things get real interesting. 

What can I say about Mike…..well lets just say I wasn’t a fan of his demeanor or condescending attitude.  He was cold and treated Lillian like she was a child.  Business seemed to be his first love but Mike’s not all he pretends to be…..

Sam…. the bestie.  He seemed to be a true friend.  One to listen and look out for Lillian.  They appeared to be more than just drinking buddies and who kept her entertained with his intellectual banter.

Levels of deceit, secrets, betrayal and subtle hints that there was more going on than then the obvious or the inferred.  

Alessandra’s writing was crisp and concise. The story ever changing  and engaging from the first page right through to the end.  I liked that she told the story in multiple points of view. 

If you are looking for a suspenseful novel to keep you up for “just one more chapter” this book is for you.

The second book in the Rose Canyon series and although I enjoyed Brielle & Spencer’s story I absolutely LOVED Emmett and Blakely’s story.  

Talk about a love hate relationship…..or at least that  was what Emmett wanted Blakely to think. 

A marriage of convenience that grew into something more and then disappeared into nothing.   But now years later Blakely shows up out of the blue to right her wrong. 

Emmett tries to deny the feelings he has always had for her but her close proximity sends his emotions into overdrive.  

I absolutely loved these  two. Their banter was full of pent up feelings.  Their desire for one another growing harder to deny.  The flashback memories to their time together while on the military so important to understanding their connection and reasons why they parted. 

The  intertwined storyline brings all of the other Rose Canyon characters to the forefront as we try to further unravel the connection between Isaac’s killer and the young girl that brings Blakely and Emmett back together.    

This book is full of suspense, emotion, forgiveness and love.  Let’s just say I was not happy with a potion of this book but Corinne did  right  by the characters and gave me the ending I was hoping for.

~ Review ~

So it Goes was the 2nd book on the Twist of Fate Series but can be read as a stand-alone as I was able to follow along with having read the first book in the series.  

Malia and Palmer have a love - hate relationship.  They met as business associates but there is an underlying attraction between them too. 

For me this book was a bit slow at first.  It seemed to me that the affection was more one sided and that Malia spent a lot of time rebuffing Palmer’s advances. 

Queue the need for a plus one at a wedding for each of them and fake dating commences.  Both of their families have been at them for not settling down so they have their work cut out for them at these weddings.  

This is where the story started to pick up for me. Although there were moments that made me feel engaged,  I wasn’t falling for the characters as much as I had hoped to. 

I have been a fan of Jennifer Probst’s work for years and this being her 50th release she sprinkled in some past characters.  

Although this may not have been a 5 star read for me it doesn’t mean someone will not enjoy it more.
