ReviewI was excited for this book and Kyson's story.  Although he is a Hunter brother I think he is definitely the one with a hidden soft side. 
There were definitely moments of madness in this story.  Khaliah meets Kyson as his ex's wedding and they definitely do not have insta love. They more or less are at each others throats from the start. 
This is a true ememies to lovers with a mixed bag of angst, secrets and attraction.  If you fell for the first Hunter brother, Zuko, you are absolutely going to love Kyson.   We do get to spend a little time with Zuko and Alaska and Kenzo makes his presence known too 
This book was very entertaining and I am definitely looking forward to the next book not only for Kenzo's story but to see what happens with Pops. 
These books can be read as a standalone but I wouldn't pass up Zuko and Alaska's story if I were you.

Because I like to do things my way, I pour the creamer in the mug first, stick it under the coffee maker, and press start once I load it with one of his pods. I smile to myself as I watch the brown liquid mix with the creamer, stirring itself. See, genius and I’m not dirtying a spoon. 

Satisfied, I pick up the mug and carefully walk it down to his bedroom. Such a lazy ass that he makes me do this. Just his way of holding control over the situation. When I reach his bedroom door, I part it open and stick my head in.

Review 

This may just be my favorite book from Meghan Quinn.  This is the start of a new series, with new characters and a new town.   I absolutely loved Hattie and Hayes!  This book covered a lot of ground for me.  We have loss, family, a long standing feud, secrets, an age gap and the cutest little girl. 
What’s a girl to do when you return home from school and get dumped by your boyfriend?   Take a job with your brothers ex-best friend and keep your arrangement a secret.  
Some might say that it is a recipe for disaster but I think it was the recipe of a wonderful story with some ups and downs along the way.   
I loved the angst between Hayes and Hattie! She really tried to uphold her dislike for him but he got under her skin quickly. 
Hayes really tried to keep Hattie at arm’s length even when all he wanted to do was pull her close.  These two definitely kept you on your toes. Their inner dialogue was fun too. 
Let is not forget the best besties, Maggie and Abel and the rest of the Rowley family that lend depth and laughter to the story as well. 
This story will pull at your heart strings, make you route for the Rowley family and all they endured and most of all Hattie and Hayes.  
I can’t say enough about this book…..be sure to grab your copy and check in to Almond Bay for a while. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
