~ Excerpt ~
“Hey, I never got a taste,” Pierce exclaims.

“Oops.” I smile innocently. “There’s none left. Maybe next time.”
Before I know it, he’s leaning into me. Into my personal space, he’s so close I’m dizzy. Our gazes are locked. My breath comes out ragged and harsh from being this close to him. What is he doing?
He answers my unspoken question by taking my hand in his. My heart hammers heavily in my chest as it lifts. The feel of his fingers on me is hot and heady, the memories that are imprinted on my mind resurfacing to the forefront of my brain. I remember everything.
We stare at each other.
Neither speaking.
The seconds pass, but it feels like everything is on pause as I wait to see what he will do. The boys talking in the background is a steady buzz against the pounding in my chest.
He lifts.
Thud.
Closer.
Thud.
His tongue juts out, and he swipes the tip of my finger where the cream from the filling has collected. Before I can think, he places it in his mouth and eats the rest.
“Ewwwww,” rings out through the room. The sound of the boys gagging pulls me out of my haze.
“What are you doing?”
“Having dessert.” He winks. His emerald green eyes twinkling with mischief.
He’s too close. Too damn close. I remember what his lips feel like against my skin. Decadent. Like the first bite of a macaron.
Sinful.
I need to get away.

~ Review ~
Lost another piece of my heart to a Lancaster man. I think Pierce may have replaced Grant as my favorite though. I am a total sucker for a broken alpha man who's in need of a little redemption. Lindsay was everything Pierce needed but didn't quite realize till he was almost beyond repair.

There was definitely chemistry between Pierce and Lindsay but there were pieces of Pierce that I think Lindsay both loved and hated at the same time. A reminder of all she was as well as a reminder of what she could have become had fate not dealt her a cruel hand.

I was smitten with Pierce from the start. His dislike of Spencer and his commanding know it all ways only endeared him to me more. But Spencer is the one who puts Pierce on the path to change his life so I will give him a nod.

Pierce has many inner struggles to overcome but I loved watching him evolve from self destructive to protective and lighthearted. He not only struggles to better himself but to be a better person for Lindsay.

Lindsay battles with her own past and insecurities. She definitely has a strong attraction to Pierce but her scars run deeper than her skin. With the right man by her side she starts to heal.

I devoured this book in just a few hours. So caught up in the writing of Ava Harrison and her ability to make you vested in the characters outcome. I was late to the works of Ava Harrison with this only being the 3rd book I have read from her but I am working on catching up because I don't plan on missing another.
