Review

This is the 5th and final installment in the Adair Family series.  Although this is part of a series I believe you can enjoy this book as a standalone as I did. 

Monroe aka Roe and Broden are childhood best friends that drifted apart after university and have a lot of unresolved feelings towards one another. 

18 years apart is a long time hold on to feelings especially when throughout that time you have been trying to lose yourself in multiple women to ease the loss of one…. the one. 

Monroe has had a rough childhood that followed her through to adulthood.  Losing Broden being at the center of her turmoil. 

When they both return to their home town to refresh and reset neither one of them are ready for the feelings that seeing each other again will stir up. 

Forced to deal with their past and everything that was left unsaid Broden and Monroe discover that they have wasted a lot of time. Getting back what they have lost won’t be easy but Broden is determined to right the wrongs and prove to Roe that its only ever been her. 

The family dynamic of thr Adair family is warm and welcoming. Although at times I was less than pleased with Broden’s behavior towards Monroe. He redeems himself. 

I will definitely be picking up a the books in this series to familiarize myself more wirh the Adair brothers.   Looking forward to the release of Max & Sloane’s story coming soon.

I was excited for Vivienne’s story since the sneak peek at the end of Made for Me. The family dynamic of family is as engaging as it is entertaining. 

Vivienne leads a so called “double life” hiding her career as an author from all but 2 people.  Looking to start a new by buying a boat, life gets interesting when she moves next door to a less that friendly neighbor.  

Well the neighbor, Xavier, may not be Vivienne’s biggest fan (or his he?) from the start but  Beatrice sure takes a liking to her.   Slowly Xavier starts to thaw vs. her and finds that he’s a bit intrigued by her. 

Slowly they begin talking and spending time together.  Xavier starts to care for Vivienne and confides his darkest moment and fear to her. 

I absolutely loved these two. I liked that they started off slow and found something that neither one was looking for but that they both needed…. love and understanding.  

I loved catching up with the rest of the Grant family as well. Max and Matthew always add a level to the story.  Not only is Xavier accepted and embraced by Vivienne, but her whole family that helps to reunite him with his first love…hockey. 

A quick, engaging, fun loving read you won’t want to miss. Can’t wait for more.

Review

Gideon is a no nonsense druglord(businessman)who entertains a dying man’s wish. That wish quickly becomes an obsession and Gideon wants nothing more than to capture and keep Sasha …. his firefly. 

Sasha has been on her own for years. No family aside from her recently departed brother that put her on Gideon’s radar.  Sasha has conflicting feelings for her kidnapper/protector.   Every time she is close to him her body betrays her mind. 

The story was fast based for most of the book. I enjoyed the push and pull between these two and the transition from enemies to lovers.  Ava throws a few twists and turns that elevate the story and keep you engaged to the very end.
