Aleatha Romig is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author who lives in Indiana, USA. Review

The anticipated finale of this series was everything I was hoping for and more. The battle wages between all the forces in this series until the cracks of the foundation appear and the house Montague gets all that it deserves.

The cliffhanger from Entrapment had me eagerly waiting the arrival of this book so I was sure to jump back in quickly to catch up with all things Lennox & Charli. It is so easy to get lost between the pages of this story anxiously turning pages to see what will become of all of the relationships, who will fall to whose demands and who will be left standing.

Aleatha throws in a few added twists that I didn't see coming which by all means left me with a smile on my face when I was done. The constant throughout is the unconditional and unrelenting love between Charli and Nox. Although separated they are truly devoted to one another.

We watch as Alton, Bryce and Suzanna all continue to try to manipulate the lives of others to achieve their own goals. Not once thinking of anyone but themselves. Bu see there's this little thing called Karma though and sure enough it pays them all a visit.

Not only will you be caught up in the love of Charli & Nox and the deceit and trickery but you will also come to know Adelaide and Oren a bit better as well. They were engaging but undefined. It was like watching two people fall in love for the first time all over again.

What more can I say about this series aside from the fact that I am sad to see it go.......read it! Aleatha will take you on a ride throughout all five books but the ride is so worth journey. And don't forget the epilogue.

Charli

The storm of raging tension that had surrounded us since our eyes met in the bar changed. The intensity was still off the charts, but this was something different. Whatever it was affected us both. Our breathing suddenly took effort as both of our chests rose and fell.

"Take off that dress."

Nox's command echoed throughout the glass stall. I considered arguing, but common sense stopped my rebuttal. I'd already pushed him far enough. Starting at the neckline, I slowly exposed myself, inch by inch. His gaze followed the soaked material. As I revealed my breasts, my nipples hardened, and he let out a low growl. Down the dress went, exposing my tummy and red lace panties.

Shaking his head, Nox ran his finger along the edge of my panties. With his large hands now at my hips, he asked, "Did you do anything I told you to do in my note?"

"No." My honesty left a trail of vulnerability and shame.

In one quick motion, Nox ripped the lace, and the shredded panties joined my dress on the shower floor. I blinked away the water as he tipped my face upward.

"No more disobeying. Do you understand?"

I nodded—not in acknowledgment of his words, but in response to the rush from once again being in his presence. Nox electrified me in a way I'd never known, and even in the absurdity of our current situation, he was doing it again. The way he scanned my nakedness as his Adam's apple bobbed tingled my skin.

He hadn't released my chin. "Say 'Yes, Mr. Demetri.'"

My chest hurt. "N-Nox."

His grip tightened.

"Yes, Mr. Demetri."

Oh this book!! I couldn't wait to see what happened after the way Betrayal ended and to be honest this book was worth the wait. I didn't think I could fall further for Nox but even at his worst I loved him.

Nox and Charli test each other at every turn. Both fighting for control but at times it's of control of more than just each other but their feelings. It was easy to get caught up in their story even with all of the outside forces at play.

I loved that even when Charli's back was against the wall she stood up to Nox and his demanding ways. She held on to her determination to find the Nox from Del Mar and it was a fun ride to watch them break down the walls.

Of course regardless of which Nox Charli was dealing with the chemistry was there. Nox even when he was upset with Charli's defiance couldn't deny how deep his feeling were for her.

In this installment of the series we learn more about Charli's family, her past and how she ends up in her current situation. Running from her family seems like the best idea she has had yet. We also get a glimpse into Nox's past, although it is only shared at his discretion. Seems that Nox and Charli are more connected than either one knew.

It seems at times that Nox and Charli are both pawns in a much larger chess game. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles that have been placed in their paths without their knowledge? Can they trust enough in each other to keep their relationship alive?

I will most definitely be looking forward to seeing where Aleatha takes us in the next installment, Deception coming this May.
