Just when you thought politics couldn't get any dirtier...
Reagan
My husband and I know how to fight. We perfected the art when running against each other for Congress. But that fighting revealed a passion for each other that we couldn’t deny. Battle lines were erased as enemies became lovers.
But now we’re in the fight of our lives – we’re battling a smear campaign as he runs for governor. And again, we find ourselves drawn to do what we do best.
I won’t be controlled, even by the man who owns my heart. But as tensions escalate to a boiling point, I discover there is one place I like checking my defiance – the bedroom. As Jude takes his dominance over me to a new level, I discover that submission can bring me to places I’ve ever known.
Brenda Rothert is an Illinois native who was a print journalist for nine years. She made the jump from fact to fiction in 2013 and never looked back. I had everything I ever wanted—a wife, a kid, with two more on the
way. I was living the American dream. After the babies were
born, we hit a rough patch. I did everything to prove my love, to show Suzy
that nothing was more important than her. After some work and a lot of time, we
found our groove again.Just when life had evened out, a familiar enemy came back to haunt
us. It wasn’t my past that followed us, but my brother’s.When the danger gets too
close, I’ll do anything to defend my family. There’s nothing more important
than the people I love, and I’ll protect what’s mine—even if it costs me my
life.
I was very excited to
see that Chelle was going to give us more of the family that I have grown to
love. Honor Me is an opportunity to catch up with the Gallo's and get updated
on all things Suzy and City! City was the first Gallo that Chelle Bliss introduced
us to and City, James & Thomas are by far my favorites.
At the start of Honor Me we find that there's a bit of unspoken feelings
between City and Suzy. Raising a family can add strain to any relationship but
when you couple that with feelings of insecurity and self doubt it can make
things very complicated.
The family antics that I have come to appreciate from all of the Men of Inked
Series all still in play. Ma & Pa are just as flirty as their kids. The
girls still like to get on one another about their sexual escapades and well
the men are true to the alpha forms.
We get to revisit some of the story lines from the previous books and we find
once again that Family is everything to the Gallos. They will love, protect and
lay down their lives for one another .
I never doubted that City and Suzy loved one another and that they would find
the way to navigate the rough waters to come out together on the other side of
things stronger than ever. If you thought you fell for Joe "City"
Gallo in Throttle Me, wait till you get a glimpse of him now.
Don't miss the latest edition to the Men of Inked Series and if you haven't
started this series you are truly missing out!

I thought I knew what was
important, but one phone call sent my life into a tailspin.Alone and afraid, I clung to the one
man I shouldn’t. I was warned about him and told to stay away.“He’s dangerous,” they said. But the man who could hurt me the
most, gave me the greatest comfort."He's
not who they think," I told myself. But
just like an illusion, things are never what they seem.
Becca, my best friend, snaps her fingers
in my face. “Cal, are you listening to me?”
I smile and nod, but her words are
distant. I’ve looked at my phone at least
fifty times today. I’m on pins and needles waiting for an important phone call.
One that could change my life, and I haven’t told a soul about it—not even
Becca. Telling people makes it real, and
I’m not ready to face the possibility I could have more important things to
deal with than which pair of shoes to wear with my favorite Donna Karan dress.
“So what do you think?” Becca asks.
I blink a few times and pretend I heard
her question. “You should do it.”
“Okay,” she says and hops off the stool.
I grab her hand, holding her next to me so
I can find out exactly what I told her to do. “Where are you going?”
“I asked if I should try to fuck ‘The
Butcher.’”
My mouth drops open and my eyes grow as
wide as saucers. “Becca!” I yell and wrap my fingers around her hand. “Sit your
ass down.” I glance over my shoulder, following her eyes to where he sits.
“He’s always looking over here, ogling
you. I thought maybe he’d take the next best thing.”
I gawk at her, completely in shock. “You
can’t be fucking serious.”
Slowly, she walks backward toward her
seat. “I’m just kidding, asshole. You acted like
you were listening, but you didn’t hear a damn thing. I just thought I’d fuck
with you.”
“I’m sorry.” The guilt of ignoring her
eats at me, and even though I want to tell her what’s going on, I don’t dare.
“And for your information, Bruno isn’t ogling me.”
She fiddles with her cosmopolitan. “I
think you should get your eyes checked next time you’re at the doctor, Cal.
He’s always watching you. It’s sexy, but it also creeps me the fuck out. He’s
so dangerous.”
I laugh, playing it off, but I’ve noticed
it too. “Is he looking over here now?” I ask, refusing to turn around to look
for myself.
She leans forward, her eyes peering behind me. “He is. He’s not taking his eyes off
us either.”
“He probably thinks we’re trouble or
something,” I say and hope she drops the topic because I’d rather find out what
she was going on about before.
“You can pretend like you don’t think he’s
hot, Cal, but I’ve seen you flirt with him more than once.”
I shake my head and chuckle softly.
“Smiling and saying hello isn’t necessarily flirting.”
“He has a thing for you.”
“He probably has a thing for every girl in
this place.”
“Nope.” She shakes her head vigorously and
puckers her lips. “He wants you.”
Chelle Bliss has become one of the authors that I will read without even looking at the blurb. This book in itself was a pleasant surprise that was both different from Chelle's other books yet intriguing and inspiring.
One phone call can change everything and in an instant it did for Callie. The choice was her's to fight or succumb to her situation. Appearances can be deceiving and they most definitely were in this case. I totally fell for both Callie and Bruno. The adoration from a far was kept low key until the moment that Callie was in need.
What appeared to make them an unlikely match made them that more compatible. I loved Callie's stubborn streak but I also loved that she finally let Bruno in. She seemed to be more at ease when they were together. Bruno was most definitely more of a big teddy bear although that is only one side of him. Having dealt with a similar situation he was more than ready to jump in to help Callie. His behavior at times was a bit overbearing but it was all done out of affection. The way he was dismissive of any and all things but Callie was heart warming. This book is a bit more of an emotional read from Chelle's other works and I loved it. This book made me laugh, smile and cry with the characters. This book is a standalone so if you are new to her work this would be a great place to start. I will be looking forward to what's next.
