Shantel is a Texas born girl who now lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her high school sweetheart, who is a wonderful, supportive husband and their four year old little princess. She loves to spend time cuddled up on the couch with a good book.

She has published five books in the Undescribable series and 2 books in the DASH series. She considers herself extremely lucky to get to be a stay at home wife and mother. Going to concerts and the movies are just a few of her favorite things to do. She hates coffee, but loves wine. She and her husband are both huge football fans, college and NFL.  Another enjoyable read from Casey Peeler with a beautiful story and characters you can get caught up in.  I always enjoy Casey's writing as she makes you feel like you are right there with the characters.

Belle, a small country girl with big dreams that are finally coming true.  Opening for a huge sexy star like Jake Bryant would make anyone swoon, but Belle and Jake find more than physical attraction they find friendship.  But when a break on the tour arises and they venture to Belle's hometown things start to heat up and get a little complicated.

Chase is one of Belle's childhood friends and he has been in love with her just as long.  Now that she's home will he finally tell her and make his move or will he be too late?

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

  I am a 28 year old single girl who prefers book boyfriends to the real life variety.

 What do you do when you are not writing?

I am working on my Master’s degree in social work or spending time with my family on the farm.

How did you choose the genre you write in?

 I write the genre that I most enjoy reading.

Can you tell us about your challenges in getting your first book published?

  The biggest challenge in self publishing for me has been just learning the ropes.  Thankfully I have connected with some amazing people who are happy to help a newbie get through the hoops.

How did you come up with the title? 

 After rereading the book for editing I realized what an integral part of the story the pool table is.  So I searched a list of billiards terms and Ball in Hand had the sort of double entendre I was looking for.

 What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment? 

 The toughest criticism is that my “love scenes” aren’t racy enough.  It’s very hard to write steamy prose without using language that is too dirty.  Hopefully each book will be an improvement.  The best compliments have come from editors who reassured me that while my grammar skills are somewhat lacking my storylines are not lacking.

 Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?

  Thank you for taking the time to read it.  I appreciate it so much.

“Good evening, Mr. Lowery,” Emmett says calmly, but the expression on his face looks like he’s ready to about-face and run as I peek around the kitchen corner.

“Emmett, come in,” Grandaddy says flatly, and I try to resist the urge to giggle. They make their way into the foyer. “Rae will be out in just a minute, but I wanted to talk to you first.”

“Yes, sir,” Emmett replies.

“I expect you to take care of her, Emmett Bridges. She’s a good girl, and I love her more than life itself. If you hurt her, by God, I’ll make you wish you never stepped foot back into Pleasant Hill. Got it?”

On that cue, I walk into the foyer to meet him. When I round the corner, I see him standing there in a pair of jeans and a fitted polo, holding a bouquet of daisies. I feel as if the world stops spinning when I see him. A smile spreads across his face, but I can see he’s trying to refrain from a real reaction with Grandaddy standing there.

“You look gorgeous, Raegan,” Emmett states as his smile continues to grow.

~Review ~ 

If you are looking for a feel good book you have come to the right place. Southern Perfection is a standalone, so if Casey Peeler is a new author to you there will be no catching up.  This was a heart warming read about accepting what you cannot change and making the most out of the hand that life deals you.  The bond we see with Reagan and her grandfather is very relatable and facing the reality that nothing is forever can be overwhelming.  

Luckily, Reagan has a few people in her corner that will support her through the ups and downs that life throws at her without a second thought about what's in it for them.  Emmett and Cole are more than any girl could ask for. 

Emmett had me swooning from the word go and his ability to see right through Reagan was heart melting.  You could tell that they were connected beyond the physical.  Who knew that a simple jesture to envoke a smile would leave such a lasting affect.

Casey Peeler has again provided a story full of emotion.  As with her Full Circle Series, she draws you in and keeps you invested till the last page. I will of course be waiting to see what she has up next for us.
