Blog Tour Review
Quiet Lies
by
R.L. Griffin
Release Date: November 12, 2015

~ Synopsis ~
I was broken before I met Sebastian Pryor, but he decimated me. I swept the ashes of myself into a pile that I kept safe for thirteen years. Believe me it wasn’t pretty, oh but people thought we were perfect. I hate myself most days. I hate that I feel for him as much as I loathe who I’ve become with him. This story is hard to hear. You know what the worst part is? You’ll see part of you in me. You’ll hate that. You won’t tell anyone.

My story is about cracks. A description or telling of how cracks in a marriage, a life, a personality, a heart and a mind begin and continue for years without anyone knowing. You don't always see what causes the fissure, but you feel it. Can you remember who you were before all of this started, before your life became a jumble of deceit, longing and regret?

This book isn’t for anyone who needs a happily ever after.

This book isn’t for anyone who needs a fun time out from their life.

This book isn’t for anyone, but me.

This is my story. I won’t apologize for it.

 ~ Review ~
Ok, not going to lie, this book took some digesting after I finished it. It was definitely an interesting read that focused on some tough subject matter.  This review may appear as vague in many respects because it will be hard to give you too much info without spoiling any of the story line.

Let's just say that things and people are not always what they appear to be.  We all hide behind a mask and some of us hide better than others.  This story focuses on Sebastian and Rebecca and it's not all hearts and flowers.

There were times I was hopeful that there was happiness on the horizon for Rebecca and others in which I feared for her safety and well being.  Sebastian often played Rebecca liked a well oiled machine.  Manipulating her without her even knowing.  But as I stated, things are not always as they appear.

This book will take you on a roller coaster ride and leave you shaking your head at the end of it.  I was so vested in Rebecca that I didn't see the end coming.

If you like books that play with your mind be sure to grab this book and see what's hiding in the Quiet Lies.

~ About the Author ~
R.L. Griffin published her first book in 2004. After that she focused on practicing law. A few years ago she began writing the By A Thread series, which is out now. Her goal is to keep readers on their toes, whether it's the plot twist or the book itself, her books are outside any box. There is a little bit of grit in most of her books and a ton of cussing. Most books are enjoyed better with a glass of wine, or whiskey, whatever your poison may be.

She lives in Atlanta with her husband, kid and dogs. She loves to travel and meet readers.

Tragedy strikes, she gets even.

The fact is, she doesn’t know who she is, she tried to run, to hide and make a life for herself, but that backfired. No one knows her except her best friend Rachel, if that’s even an adequate word for what they are to each other. Rachel helps her build a life for herself below the radar, which is fine until the unthinkable happens knocking Em out of her unfeeling cocoon. When her house of cards comes tumbling down she runs again, until the one person who can change her mind finds her.

*** Due to adult situations, language and possible scenarios that may be difficult for some readers to handle, take a breath before you start this one. It’s gritty and not pretty. Nothing is pretty here. Whiskey is a good thing.

  objective teaser 2
Hi all!! This will be my fourth week of giving away my favorite books that I’ve read so far in 2014.
This week’s book is called Objective and it’s by K. Larsen. It has everything I love in a story: grit, alcohol and most importantly a strong female lead character. I really cannot read wimpy females. Just can’t do it. With K. Larsen, I don’t have to; most of her books have strong female characters.

The emotion in this book dripped off the page. It was unsettling and superbly written. I don't like to know how things will work out, and this book didn't disappoint me at all. I was drawn into this world of lies, secrets and revenge. I loved every fucking word. If you like roller coasters get on this one, you won’t be disappointed.

Heart In Wire
by
R.L. Griffin
Heart in Wire_Ebook 600x400
~ Synopsis ~
This book has spoilers in it if you haven't read the By A Thread series yet, you may not want to read the synopsis. This is a companion book to that series and I highly suggest reading it first.

Have you ever been involved in an epic love story where you wound up alone? Have you devoted yourself so completely to someone that you lost yourself in their abyss? Patrick Greer spent the past five years revolving around El. He fought like hell to not feel the emotions for her that were hidden deep in his gut, until he couldn't anymore. He was so sure of them, of her, of what they were to each other, until he wasn't. Patrick couldn't even imagine the things he'd done for her, with her and to her. El broke him. He was a liar, a friend, a lover, a fixer, a runner and a killer. Now he had to figure out who he was without her.
*There are adult situations, tons of cussing and you may enjoy this book with an adult beverage.

~ Excerpt ~
"So, that's exciting," Billy said as soon as El was out of the room, staring at Patrick.
"I know, right?!" Millie was still squealing.
"Why are you still yelling?" Patrick asked.
Millie's face transformed from bright to dark.  "Because it’s fucking exciting to have a best friend engaged, asshole."
Billy cleared his throat.  "Beer?"  He held one out to Patrick.
Patrick snatched it. "Thanks."
"What's your problem?" Millie asked.
"No problem, I just figured if anyone would be that excited, it would be El, and she's not squealing like a twelve-year-old girl."
Intervening before the fight spiraled into a screaming match, Billy handed Millie a beer, too. He put his arm around Millie and moved her to the den, away from Patrick. "You know men like Patrick don't really get the big deal with engagements or marriage. I'm sure he's excited in his own way."
"The really annoying way?" Millie asked as she sat on the couch, pouting.
"Exactly.  The really annoying way," Billy agreed, looking at Patrick in warning.
Patrick rearranged his face and joined them in the den. "Look, I'm excited for them, it’s just, I'm not the one engaged, and even if I was, I don't think I'd squeal.”  He smiled.  “Can you do it again so I can see how it’s done?"
"No, asshole, I’ll never squeal again."  Millie refused to look at him.
"Hmmm, I think that is a challenge I’ll accept."  Patrick raised an eyebrow at Millie.
Billy turned on Madden and began playing.
"What do you mean you accept?" Millie asked.
"The challenge to make you squeal commences in," he looked at his watch, "three hours."
Her eyes showed her understanding, and she looked from Patrick to Billy and back, like he was crazy.  "Patrick…"
"Really, Mil?  You know he hears you already, right?  This will just be a different noise.  Fair warning, Billy, there will be squealing tonight."  With that, Patrick walked outside to check the meat he was grilling.

Fuck. She's getting married and I have to be happy.
