Release Date:  December 29, 2015
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Breathless Trilogy comes the first novel in the Enforcers series—a bold new direction in erotic romance that explores the games men and women play, and the price they’re willing to pay for pleasure.

~ Synopsis ~
What he wants, he takes with no remorse or guilt.

She stood out in his club like a gem, unspoiled and untouched. A lamb among wolves, she clearly didn’t belong. Drawn to her innocence he watched as she was surrounded by men who saw what he did—but no one but him could touch her. He summoned her to his private quarters. He sensed her fear. He also recognized the desire in her eyes. And he knew she wouldn’t leave before he possessed her. She had no need to know his secrets. Not until he had her under his complete and utter control.

What he wants, she isn’t sure she can give him.

The moment he told her want he wanted, she couldn’t resist. Instinct told her to run, but her heart said stay and walk the fine line between pleasure and pain. Though she wasn’t sure she could ever completely surrender, the primal part of her wanted to try, even knowing this man could break her in ways she never imagined. Because once he possessed her, he owned her and it would be too late to turn back. She can only pray that he doesn’t destroy her in the end.

~ Review ~
This synopsis made this book seem right up my alley.  I mean a dominant male lead that won’t take no for an answer.  Donovan Drake appeared to have many layers to unfold but after just uncovering a few I was left wondering.

Why was Donovan’s need for Evangeline so strong? Does he have ties to organized crime?  Who are these “men” that he works with that are readily available at his beck and call and willing to risk their lives for him?

I truly found the interactions between Evangeline and them to be the most engaging.  Her innocence seemed to soften even the hardest of men.  They all seemed more than willing to spend time with her and initiate a friendship.

Donovan most commonly referred to as Drake throughout is definitely a likeable character even with his moody and controlling ways.  I found his
ability to share a bit odd but Evangeline’s acceptance of it even more so.

My problem with this read lies mostly with Evangeline and her “so called” best friends.  They are in turn the reason she meets Drake and they are the first ones to write her off once she becomes involved with them.  Their interactions a bit strained and not consistent with their supposed bond.

Evangeline is inexperienced so her willingness to give herself both physically & emotionally to Drake and all with blind trust was hard for me to reason with.  I mean she just meets the man and he has her spread across his desk with not even a glimpse of hesitation.

This is only the first book in this new series and I do have questions that I would like answered.  The next installment is set to release May of 2016 so I guess I will have to wait till then to see if there is a way for Drake and Evangeline to redeem themselves in my eyes.
