This was my first read from Ava Harrison but you can be sure it will not be my last. She had me from the first page,drawing me in, making me need to know that secrets that were hidden within Grant Harrison.
He most definitely endeared himself to me early. His run in with Bridget showed a softer and caring side. But you could tell he was battling something. I tend to love the tormented men and I was eager to see why Grant was troubled. As we move throughout the story we see his inner struggle.
Bridget....young and trying to land herself a new job to get her career on the right path. What she gets is a lot more that she could have bargained for. A chance encounter has now found its way into her everyday life and now its a struggle to maintain distance.
It was almost as Grant loved to torture himself with Bridget. The push and pull between them was palpable and their chemistry off the charts. I loved how much Grant cared for his daughter. How he was willing to endure whatever came his way to make sure that she was happy and loved.
Payback....I was truly routing for karma to pay a visit to Chelsea. Underhanded wheeling and dealing can only get you so far when you mess with family.
This book was truly engaging. As I stated this was my first read from Ava Harrison but when I had to step away I was eager to get back to these characters to see where she was going to take the story next. What I can tell you is you will get angst, super sexy moments, and it will leave you with a smile on your face. But to find out why...you're going to have to #1click!
