Life was perfect…until one night changed everything.

A horrendous accident destroyed them; stripping them of everything they knew, taking away their happiness and their daughter.  While mourning the loss of their little girl they were also suffering the loss of each other.  Stefan blamed himself for their daughter’s death and drowned away the guilt in liquor.  Grey had never been so alone.  Stefan had died inside the day their child did.  Doing the only thing she could to save herself… Grey ended their marriage.

Seven Years Later

Stefan Harrison is the most eligible bachelor with a wallet and company that continues to grow.  Every night he had a different woman on his arm with the next not far behind. Grey Dawson is the lead stylist and co-owner of a reputable salon with the perfect fiancé and a beautiful wedding in her future.

But one chance meeting between Grey and Stefan is all that is needed to reawaken the feelings from the past.

She tries to avoid him but he won’t let her.  Losing Grey was Stefan’s biggest mistake and he won’t stop until he wins her back.  But Grey doesn’t know if she could ever trust him again.  Leaving her heart to decide between the perfect future…or the past she never let go.

His lips twitched up to the side; his hands slid across the table and lifted mine, lacing his fingers between mine. This touch, the feeling, it was something I never thought I’d feel again. Nothing about the way it affected me had changed. I felt the world around me slip away; my eyes slid shut as the air in my lungs escaped me. A gentle squeeze against my hands made me focus again on the man in front of me. I hardly registered a few tears building behind my eyes until they fell down my cheeks.

Stefan’s ever-changing, ever-incredible blue eyes held mine as if he refused to let go.

“From the second you ran into me I had no choice but to go back for you.” I focused my eyes on the wall directly next to his beautiful face. There was no way I could watch him and keep hold of my self-control.

“Look at me, Greyson Rose.” I did. I couldn’t resist him no matter how much I knew I should.

“I will always come back for you.”

Those words. They were ones I needed to hear many years ago, but they never came. In the moment, when I needed my husband, my best friend, he wasn’t there. He didn’t come back for me—he left me alone, and that’s why we were here in this very place. I pulled my hands from his and placed them over my eyes as the waterworks began. My chest heaved and my body shook with the onslaught of memories and of moments that once were.

I felt the booth seat shift as he sat down next to me, and before I could react his arms were around me. I nearly stopped breathing at the wave of emotions that shook me to the bottom of my heart. I’ve had his hands on me, his arm around me, but nothing compared to the feeling of being surrounded by the only man who made me feel whole. The strength he held me with was one I could never forget. There was no warning in my head anymore—there was only Stefan. My arms wrapped around his shoulders, my face buried into his neck.

Breathing him in, touching him, holding him. I wasn’t over it. For the first time in six years I felt like I was alive. My lungs filled with the fresh sweet scent of the man that would always have my heart.

It didn’t matter that we were in a crowded restaurant. All that truly mattered was that he was here and I was here. I knew it was going to kill me when it was time to let go, but for now I was going to hold on as if my life depended on it. Stefan’s hand pressed against the back of my head.

“Trust me, Greyson Rose. I’m not going anywhere this time.”

I am Megan Noelle and “A Broken Forever” is the third novel that I will publish but not the first I’ve written.  I have been writing since I was old enough to hold a pen and finally pursued my dream of becoming a novelist.  Writing is my passion and I am all for following one’s passions! Deciding that my overactive hormones were under control, I turned back toward the rest of the room but gasped as soon as I did. Stefan stood directly behind me, eyes looked up from hooded lids. The slight tension from before was almost out of control as he closed the distance between us. With each foot in my direction, I responded with a step backwards, until finally the wall stopped me. His tongue slid out over his lips making them glisten in an exceptionally tantalizing way.

Not that I noticed of course, but someone might.

“Is something wrong, Greyson Rose?” My name rolled off his tongue as he annunciated every syllable.

“No, wh…” Deep Breath. “Why do you ask?”

He took one more step closer. “You suddenly got very…” His face leaned down toward my chest, as he listened to the rapid beat against my ribs. “Jumpy.”

The scent that covered every square inch of him took my senses hostage. Shivers raced up and down my spine and I tried to clear the intoxicating haze from my awareness.

“I’m not.” I choked out.

A mischievous grin touched his eyes and as much as I wanted to hate him for getting some sick pleasure out of what he was doing—I couldn’t. The urge to shove him back and pull him closer raged a war deep in my psyche. Stefan slowly lifted his arms and pinned the wall on either side of my shoulders. His feet stayed firmly planted but he lowered his upper body within an inch of mine.

“So, last night you got me to promise I would shut down my work, at a time much earlier than I anticipated leaving. Do you remember?”

“Yes,” I stuttered out.

Stefan nodded, keeping his intense gaze trained on me. “Now I have something I want you to do for me.”

My heart leapt into my throat and a sudden rush of heat swirled low in my belly. The heaves of my chest brushed faintly against his and each touch made my breath catch.

“Wh…what’s that?” The shake of my voice became unbearable as I struggled to remain vigilant.

“I just want you to answer one simple question for me.” His right hand left the wall, he held up one finger an inch from my nose.

“Okay?”

“You need to answer me with complete and absolute honesty. I’ll know when you’re lying to me, Greyson Rose. Will you promise to answer truthfully?”

At this point I couldn’t filter my answers even if it was the difference between life and death. My tongue licked out onto my incredibly dry lips. For the first time Stefan’s eyes left mine as they focused onto my mouth. I forced down a rising groan.

“I promise.”

I hopped off the stool and walked over to him, lacing my arms around his waist.  My cheek rest against his back and I heaved a big sigh breathing in the scent of his woodsy cologne. 

“What would I do without you?” Richard’s soft chuckle rumbled against my face.

“You’re mistaken, Grey.  It is me who would be lost without you.”

“I doubt it.” I whispered.

“How about we just never part so we don’t ever have to find out?”

His words struck a chord in my heart, jogging a moment I thought I had forgotten completely.  My eyes squeezed shut as the memory took over.

The sun was just beginning to peek around the curtains, casting a glow on Stefan’s face. My head rest against his stomach as my fingers traced the delicious lines of his chest.  His eyes were closed but from the way he was breathing I knew he was still awake.  It had been a little more than twelve hours since we said, ‘I do’ and I still couldn’t grasp the thought.  This perfect man with his incredibly intense blue eyes, soft lips and a heart of gold that he hid from the rest of the world—was mine.  How on Earth had I been so lucky?  It didn’t matter that we were young because I felt it in my soul, Stefan Harrison was the man I was made for.  Our hearts were just pieces of a puzzle and no one else could fit together the way we did.

“What are you thinking about?” I asked, daring to break the silence with my voice.

Stefan gave a contented sigh before opening his eyes to gaze lovingly at me. “Just thinking how perfect this moment is.  How incredibly perfect you are.” I smiled up at him. “I don’t deserve you Grey, but I’ll never stop trying to prove that you are everything to me.”

My hand flew to my heart as his beautiful words sank in.  “Oh, Stefan…”

“I don’t know what I’d do without you, Greyson Rose.  I could never imagine waking up each morning and not have you next to me.”

I sat up and wrapped my arms around his shoulders.  A smile formed over my lips as I stared into his stoically stunning face.

“Well how about you just never leave and then you will never have to wake up a single day away from me.”  

Stefan smiled back and pressed his forehead down to mine.

“I’m not going anywhere, baby.”

Fresh tears rolled from my eyes and stained the back of Richard’s shirt.

“I’m not going anywhere, baby.” I whispered much too low for Richard’s ears, while my arms squeezed him even tighter.
