This collaboration from A.L. Jackson and Rebecca Shea is something I inquired about over a year ago. Their writing styles so different on their own but blended together here perfectly go give you a read to get swept up in. 

Paxton has it all. His Hollywood persona making him the apple of everyone’s eye. He’s the perfect fantasy or free pass but little did he know that Kaylee would trip her way into his life and send him spinning. 

Pax swept me off my feet with the attention and adoration he showered Kaylee with or should I say “Kay”. The nickname signaling that this could be more than just a passing moment. 

Kaylee wasn’t “Hollywood” material by any means but that didn’t stop the flurry of emotion that was radiating from my kindle. The measures that Pax took to protect her and reassure her was enough to steal my heart. 

The characters are sexy, seductive and fun. As they warm your heart they will also put a smile on your face with the teasing and humor sprinkled throughout. It was so easy to fall into their world and get lost in their story. 

Being an avid reader of both authors I found myself trying to guess who wrote a few parts here and there....I am pretty sure I was on point. I can honestly say that I hope for more from this dynamic duo. Is it wrong that when I finished I still wanted MORE??!!

~ Review ~

 Brilliant story telling from Pepper Winters that makes you forget all but the story weaves within the pages. The emotion veiled with each sentence propelling you deeper into the story and making your pulse race with anticipation 

I have been hooked on Pepper's writing since her first book Her craft for creating new worlds for me to get lost in something I look forward to. Elder Prest may honestly be my favorite character of them all. 

This series is slowly strengthening Pim while at the same time weakening Elder to the point of no return. You feel right along with them as you read. There is no way to stop it. I fliched, gasped, smiled and cried as I took this journey with Elder & Pim. 

There were a few twists and turns I didn't see coming and although we get a better insight into Elder and why he is the way he is there is still more to uncover and I am more that ready to do so. 

Devoured this book. Sadly it happens every time but I will gladly await the releases of Thousands and Millions to get my fill of these two.

 If you are looking for a read full of sass, sexy cowboys, intrigue, suspense and love then you have come to the right place.  I LOVED this book!  I loved the banter between Merek and Challis.  Although they fought like hell they loved even harder.  
Alike in more ways than the obvious, these two will have you laughing, crying and yearning right along with them.  It takes a lot to make me gasp out loud but HJ Bellus sure got me, tears and all.

Challis has more on her plate than most can handle and being raised solely by her father has made her tough as nails.  Dealing with the loss of her father, estate issues and the battle within her heart you can't help but sympathize with her.

Merek has strong family ties to his brothers and his grandad.  His father, well he could do without.  Striving to save his families ranch is enough to stress anyone out, but being met with sabotage fuels the fire within Merek and his siblings.

Challis and Merek rodeo for the love of the sport but come to realize that sometimes there's more to life than a gold buckle and a check.  Sometimes the love of another person can make you the richest person in the world.

Pull up your boot straps and get ready for the next installment of the Silver Star Series which will give us more of these two and hopefully some more answers!

I finished Pocketful of Sand and I felt my heart splinter and get put back together!!   It was beautiful, the story kept me guessing as to what happened to make them that broken. Revealed in such a way that made my heart break for them. Another brilliant, heart-felt read from Michelle Leighton!!

Pocketful of Sand is a must read!  You must meet Cole and Eden and let's not forget Emmy....scene stealer on more than one occasion.  I knew that this book was going to captivate me when I saw the cover.  I know...you shouldn't judge a book by a cover but this one is just breathtaking and I had to know the meaning behind "Pocketful of Sand".  Michelle took this story beyond my expectations, wrapping me up between the pages with angst, tension, chemistry, mystery and the need to know.....why?

I wondered from the beginning what had happened to both Emmy and Eden as well as Cole.  Why are these truly beautiful people so haunted and damaged?  Why are they in self imposed isolation?  Will they ever find happiness?  I had my theories but was flooded with emotions when their plights were revealed.   Tissues required.

Cole and Eden's connection was almost like a quiet current running through them.  Neither knew why but they felt so connected to one another.  Emmy....the catalyst that sparks a fire of emotions that neither of them can deny.  Cole finds that he is possessive of both Eden and Emmy but cannot verbalize why.  With the heavy weights of their pasts bearing down on them will Cole and Eden find a way to push the past down and allow their feelings to rise to the surface?

Oh my Lawd!!!  This book had it all, sass, angst, heartache, love and lots of Luke Ashton!!  Probably my favorite book in the series so far and excited to see there is more to come from Silla!

So as you have figured out Mend the Seams picks up where Lies Beneath the Surface left off and the series must be read in order.  This book was completely action packed and another emotional roller coaster.

I loved that we got more of the back-story on Luke and he’s reasons for being very protective of the ladies in his life.  Silla touched on in it in the previous book but puts it all out there for us to feel in Mend the Seams.  She got me again….brought me to tears, pulled on my heart strings and had my heart beating out of my chest.

Savannah is the Simon at the center of this story.  Trying to mend the tattered pieces of her life post Josh and Drew chaos.  Tending to the twins and finding security the Luke's presence Savannah begins to heal. But when her past wants to remain her future she needs to fight to break free and begin again.  Watching Savannah grow and open her heart was truly touching. 

We of course get to catch up with Colton and Carly Jo as family is always close by in this series.  Carly Jo’s lack of filter never ceases to amaze me and Colton’s love for her either.

We watch as Josh gets a taste of what it feels to be at the mercy of others and have no control.  Got to say, I enjoyed watching Josh suffer and lose everything without having a say.  Payback is such a bitch and he definitely deserves his.

What I was left looking for was more Drew….you know that bastard brother of Carly Jo and Savannah.  He makes his presence known in this installment of the series but there is so much more I want to know.  Well I guess that’s why Silla is hard at work on the next installment in the series, Depths of Darkness.
