~Excerpt ~
“Quick! Pull out your lip gloss,” Sean instructs as he drops into the open seat next to me.
“What?” I laugh.
He tugs my purse out of my lap and begins rifling through with frantic fingers. When he finds the berry-colored stick, he instructs me to part my lips.
“What’s going on?” I mutter through my frozen facial expression. My eyes dart to Luke, who wrings his hands in his seat next to my dad.
“Ponytail doesn’t have enough volume,” Sean says to himself as stretches behind me to tighten the elastic on my hair. Then he reaches forward and musses the fine strands around my face, giving a more messy appearance than I’m used to. “I guess your outfit will do.” I look down at my cuffed boyfriend jeans, gray muted leopard tank, and navy blue cardigan. The anxiety I had sort of forgotten about reestablishes itself firmly as a boulder in my gut.
“Luke,” I say gravely. “Tell me.”
“He insisted,” he says softly.  “I’m sorry, I should have asked you first—”
An inexplicable shiver rolls through my shoulders. The low murmur of my friends and the other patrons at Rusty’s falls away.
Harris.
He’s the only person who elicits this type of bodily response. I remain rigid and unmoving except for my sweaty palms which I place on my thighs.
“Luke, my man! How are you?” A strong hand slaps Luke’s shoulder.
“Matt, hey.” His worried expression eases into a cheerful one when he shakes hands with a man wearing a large, black boot cast. Next to Matt is the beautiful, caramel-haired woman, Jane, who was with Harris in his convertible.
And then it’s him.
Harris’ masculine scent surrounds me. He braces his arms on the back of my chair, overwhelming me with his physical presence. I’m swirling in a sea of Harris, unable to resist his pull. He dips closer and then his lips brush oh so gently against my flushed cheek. The intimate contact sends my heart into overdrive.
“Hello, Edith,” he murmurs against my skin before pulling away.
I nearly swoon against the wood chair. Damn.

I opened my eyes and looked up at him. He was standing over me, wearing only a towel, his body glistening from not being dried properly. A line of water ran down the curving Maori tattoo on his right arm, dripping onto the carpet. He had the type of body made from a construction site—powerfully built and tanned, his muscular biceps and six-pack not from a gym. He pushed a hand through his wet brown hair, the stubble from last night gone. He was delicious, but all I wanted was for him to get dressed and go to work, so I could get back to the countless messages I had to answer. There were too many to deal with, all to do with my writing. My thoughts made me feel guilty, even more so since Tom was staring down at me with need in his eyes, the proof pushing at his towel. But, I was overwhelmed with work, overwhelmed with stress, and I really didn’t need him adding to it.

~ About the Author ~
NATIONALITY AND CULTURAL CONNECTIONS: I'm a true blue Aucklander, born and bred in New Zealand. I tend to write about cultures I have connections to, such as Croatian and Maori. I would love to visit Croatia again as I have family there. However, in My Masters' Nightmare, I have started writing about Italians . My husband is part Italian and I also have a degree in Italian.

SPORTS: As a teen my favorite sports were karate, badminton, and running. I also did unarmed combat and played in a touch rugby team (my gym teacher made me do the last one!) Now, I stick to coaching soccer and running. I have completed two marathons, numerous half-marathons and one 30K run.

CAREER PATH: I started off as a Graphic Designer, then went to Auckland University, where I got a BA degree in Art History and Italian Studies and a post-graduate Honors degree in Art History. I worked in the Art History field, then became a full-time artist, doing commissions. I eventually lost all of my senses and gave it up to be a poor, starving writer, smh.

FAVORITE FOODS: I'm vegetarian. I love pasta based foods, tofu, chocolate mousse and golden queen peaches.

BAD HABITS: I'm a major procrastinator that can't seem to earn money to save myself!

STATUS: Married to my high school sweetheart (which he hates me calling him). We have two kids.

A buzzing in my purse makes me realize that my phone has been demanding my attention for the past few minutes. I’m not sure how long. Fifteen missed calls from Harris, two from Claire and a bevy of text messages. He’s calling right now.
“Hello,” I whisper into the phone.
“Where are you? Please, I won’t... Just, please, tell me where you are so I can come pick you up.” He sounds frantic. In the background a horn angrily blasts and he yells, “Shut the f**k up!”
“I didn’t say anything,” I stammer.
“No, the a**hole behind me. Where are you, Edith? I’ll come get you.”
            “Oak Street beach.”
“F**k!” he roars, causing me to start. “Do you have any idea how dangerous it is out there? Do you see anyone around you?”
“No. I’m all by myself,” I whisper.
“Stay put. I’ll be there in two minutes.”
The phone clicks and he’s gone. I cover my wet face with my hands and close my eyes to try and block out the whirlwind of emotions swirling around me like a violent tornado. I want to go home. Not just the home a few blocks away, but the safety of my room in Arlington.
I hear the pounding of sand, but I keep my eyes closed. Rough hands yank me into his arms, and he presses his face into the crook of my neck. Put side by side, his hands span the width of my back and curl around my sides. He rocks us back and forth.
“You’re safe, you’re safe,” he whispers over and over. It’s unclear if he is talking to me or to himself. We sit like that for a while, I don’t know how long, until he finally loosens his hold, and presses his forehead into mine gently.
“I’m sorry I ran,” I say softly.
“Of course you did, I attacked you like an animal. I was out of line.” We continue breathing in each others' air as the breeze whispers around us. He bunches me to him tightly, my safe haven.
“You’re not angry?” I ask timidly.
His eyes are closed when he responds, “Hell yes, I’m angry.”
I inhale deeply, waiting for what’s next.
“Not at you, Edith, only at me.”
A slow exhale lets out the breath I’m holding and I sag down in relief.
“That was unforgivable of me, treating someone so inexperienced that way.”
“Inexperienced?” I study his furrowed brow, his eyes still closed.
“You’re a virgin,” he says the word with awe, like I’m an undiscovered species.
I shrug out of his embrace, jumping up to my feet. “Virgin!” I squawk. “I’m not!”
Okay, having sex with two people doesn’t make me an all knowing sex goddess, but it’s been a few years since I lost that innocence.

Blog Tour Review & Giveaway
Undone
by
Rebecca Shea

~ Synopsis ~
I’ve found it’s easier to share my body but not my soul. I need no one, yet I crave her.
Self-assured and independent, she doesn’t need me—but she wants me, and undeniably I want her too. At war with myself as I battle the secrets of my past, I don’t know if I can allow her to see the darkest parts of me, the parts I’ve left untouched—undone.
As she chips away at the walls I’ve built for years, I fear those secrets will hold me hostage from love—forever.

~ Excerpt ~
“What are you doing up?” I reach out and tuck a strand of her long hair behind her ear.
“I thought you left,” she whispers. I don’t know how to respond to her, because part of me
did want to leave—to flee where I don’t have to deal with these unknown feelings. Feelings that
leave me scared to death. So instead of saying anything, I pull her into a hug. I love that she’s so
tall. Her head fits right into the crook of my neck.
“You need to sleep,” I say quietly. “You have to be at work in a few hours. Go rest; I’ll be
here when you wake up—I promise.”
She pulls away and looks at me skeptically, but nods her head and shuffles down the hallway
toward her bedroom. Stopping just outside her door, she looks back over her shoulder at me, then
turns around slowly, walking back to me. Without a word, she weaves her fingers through mine
and walks us back to her bedroom. I don’t hesitate. In fact, I long for her touch and grip her hand
tighter.
“Just lie with me,” she whispers, pressing her finger to my lips so I can’t argue or refuse.
Pulling me toward the large bed, she pulls the covers back and slides in, moving to the center. I
hesitate as I watch her, wondering if it will ever be possible to “just lie with” her and not touch
her. Her long body stretches from the pillows to the end of the bed, and her fair skin is begging
me to touch it.
Sliding in next to her, she pulls me to her. Wrapping her arm across my waist, she rests her
head on my shoulder. She settles in as if she’s done it a thousand times—and it feels natural,
right.
“Thank you, Landon,” she mumbles sleepily.
“For what?” I ask, confused.
“Trying. Thank you for trying.”

~ Review ~
This is Book 2 in the series and I was truly waiting for the release of Undone to get a deeper look into Landon and Rebecca did not disappoint. I totally LOVED this story and was not willing to put it down.  I found myself sneaking off to read just to see what was coming next.
Now don’t get me wrong I was very happy that Jess chose Gabe in Unbreakable, but I was kind of routing for Landon only because he seemed so damaged.  In Undone we delve more into the past of Landon discover what actually makes him tick.  Love ‘em and Leave ‘em.  No attachments.  That is pretty much the motto that Landon goes by until a call takes him and Matt to a bar one night and he catches a glimpse of Reagan.
Reagan catches his eye almost instantly but it’s an unfamiliar feeling that has him coming back for more.  She doesn’t cave at the sight of him or his domineering ways.  She can tell that he usually gets what he wants but she’s going to make him work for it.
The banter and sexual innuendos that pass between the two of them had me smirking at my kindle and laughing out loud.  Uncovering the layers of hurt that both characters carry was an emotional ride for me as a reader and my heart broke for each of them.
We also get to catch up with Lindsay, his smartass sister and Matt, his partner.  I had a feeling there was more to the relationship with Lindsay and Matt although it goes unspoken.  Being the only two people that know of Landon’s past made their determination to not let Landon sabotage his relationship with Reagan that more real.
Just when I thought things would start to turn around for these two there would be another ripple.  Their relationship seemed to be like the ebb and flow of the tide.  Just when one of them would start to move forward the other would pull back.  There were a few occasions when I felt myself pleading with my kindle for either Reagan or Landon to make the other choice but like life….some of the best things are worth waiting for.
Do yourself a favor and introduce yourself to Landon and Regan.  Although this is the 2nd book in the series and I think you would benefit from reading Unbreakable first, this could be read as a standalone.
Looking forward to book 3 in the series…Matt & Lindsay’s story.
